En 1927, tras pasar un tiempo en una casa de pescadores de Calella, empezaron el proyecto de construcci\u00f3n de un castillo con reminiscencias medievales en el paraje de Cap Roig.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto dur\u00f3 cincuenta a\u00f1os. Comenzaron con la portalada, que denominaron Gate House, \u201cla casa de la puerta\u201d. Se trataba de unas viviendas inicialmente ideadas para el personal del servicio, donde se instalaba durante sus estancias en Calella. La obra no finaliz\u00f3 hasta 1975, con la ayuda econ\u00f3mica de la Diputaci\u00f3n de Girona.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Juntamente con el proyecto arquitect\u00f3nico del recinto, Dorothy trabajaba en el jard\u00edn bot\u00e1nico, determinando el nivelado de los terrenos y el trazado de los caminos, parterres y miradores con la ayuda del jardinero ingl\u00e9s H.M. Holloway.
