Se edific\u00f3 sobre una construcci\u00f3n previa, del siglo XI, de la que se conservan restos. El edificio es de dise\u00f1o g\u00f3tico con elementos renacentistas, como la portada, y un campanario barroco. La nave central actual es el resultado de una reforma llevada a cabo entre 1588 y 1599. La fachada se construy\u00f3 entre los siglos XVI y XVII<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Durante el siglo XVIII, se quiso retomar la construcci\u00f3n del campanario, pero las obras se paralizaron por la Guerra de los Pirineos (1793-1795) y qued\u00f3 inacabado.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Durante el siglo XVIII, se construy\u00f3 un importante retablo de madera barroco del escultor Pau Costa, que se quem\u00f3 en 1936 con el estallido de la Guerra Civil. El fuego destruy\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n diversos objetos lit\u00fargicos, y la estructura de la iglesia qued\u00f3 muy da\u00f1ada.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finalizada la guerra, se procedi\u00f3 a su reparaci\u00f3n, que se prolong\u00f3 hasta 1943. Por entonces, se inici\u00f3 un proyecto para decorar el interior con pinturas al fresco, las cuales se encargaron a Guillem Soler Gavitllar\u00f3 (1905-1971).
