An ancient fishing village formed by several coves that still preserve their charm, Calella de Palafrugell is one of the few places on the Costa Brava which still preserves the charm of the villages of the area before the arrival of mass tourism, with narrow streets, steep tiled roofs and some traditional two-floor fishermen\u2019s dwellings.<\/p>\n

This ancient fishing village is on a rocky coastline sprinkled with small coves to the north of the Castell \u2013 Cap Roig natural area and ideal for walking or cycling, with the coastal and tourist village of Llafranc to the north.<\/p>\n

In the summer, the Cap Roig Gardens hold the Cap Roig Music Festival and also the Cycle of Summer Concerts in the Church of Sant Pere, organised by the Joventuts Musicals de Palafrugell. The annual \u2018Habanera\u2019 meeting, which gathers thousands of people on the beach of Port Bo is one of the best-known events in the area.<\/p>\n

Calella de Palafrugell has the “Poble amb encant” and “Barris i Viles Marineres” seal awarded by the Catalan Tourism Agency. This stamp certifies that it is a place with a special attraction or beauty, which captivates and enchants the visitor. The seal is given by the conjunction of aspects and architectural, urban, patrimonial, environmental and tourist elements and elements.<\/p>\n
